Like the Americano, Café de Olla has its roots in the army.   It was the coffee that would be served to soldiers of the revolution to keep them full and energized throughout the day.   The original recipe includes coffee, cloves, cinnamon, and chocolate cooked in a clay pot.  For purposes of this recipe, we will try to capture the essence with NESCAFÉ GOLD, cinnamon, and brown sugar.

Cinnamon can be used to thicken drinks! Add half a teaspoon of cinnamon to your cup for a thicker texture! Be sure to compensate for the spice by adding another teaspoon of NESCAFÉ GOLD and another teaspoon of brown sugar. Blend for best results.
Optional: Sprinkle chocolate powder on top for a more indulgent feel.
