Meet Pham, he’s a coffee expert working for NESCAFÉ in Vietnam who keeps coming up with clever ideas to help farmers use scarce resources sustainably. Pham helped 20,000 Vietnamese farmers measure rainfall and ground moisture with tin cans and plastic bottles. So now, farmers only irrigate crops when they have to. Go Pham!
Widespread irrigation enables higher coffee yields. But that’s a lot of water. NESCAFÉ is training thousands of farmers in Vietnam, to reduce water use by 40%, while maintaining quality and productivity. With more efficient irrigation, there’s more water for everyone else.
Our pioneering agronomist, Jan De Smet convinced us that coffee could grow in the land of tea. With his know-how and a group of innovative Chinese farmers, we made it happen. Now 15,000 farming families are producing delicious Arabica coffee in the Yunnan province.
Jose, Fernando and Andrea, from our NESCAFÉ R&D Farm in Ecuador, have spent decades developing our coffee super-trees. They naturally resist disease, are less thirsty, and produces super juicy coffee beans too. Nice work amigos!
NESCAFÉ produces plantlets that enhance tree density, so that less land space is used. With more trees being able to grow on the same area of land, coffee farmers in Indonesia are able to get 30% better yield and also reduce costs. Win, win.
NESCAFÉ agronomists have been working with Thai coffee farmers for decades, enabling higher yields, lower costs and better results. But they’ve also become a part of the community, as friends of farmers and their families. Coffee tastes better when it’s made by good friends.
Our NESCAFÉ instant coffees (NESCAFÉ Gold) contain between 50mg and 90 mg per 2g serve.
Our premium coffee beans are decaffeinated using only water, which naturally preserves the same full flavour and rich aroma that you love from NESCAFÉ.
The beans chosen for our NESCAFÉ coffees come from all over the world including Brazil, Colombia, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Vietnam, Costa Rica. Our skilled team of blending experts ensure that the quality and flavour of the coffee we produce is consistent, year in year out, despite all the variations that can occur from year to year, region to region, and bean to bean.
The coffee we drink is made with either Arabica or Robusta coffee beans, or a blend of the two. Arabica coffee beans are known for their vibrant and complex flavours, these beans are loved by coffee connoisseurs because of their smooth taste and delicate aroma. Robusta coffee beans offer a much richer, roastier taste and work really well in coffee blends that are drunk with milk.

A standard serve of coffee is approximately 1.7g so in a 100g jar there will be approximately 58 serves, in a 250g jar there will be approximately 147 serves and so on! Our 1.7g standard serve of coffee for a cup is based on adding 170ml of water.
Once coffee has been opened and exposed to the environment the quality can slowly deteriorate. Coffee can lose its freshness, and, if coffee absorbs moisture, it can clump together making it undrinkable.
Therefore, once opened, always store coffee in a cool, dry environment and it’s best to use within 4 to 6 weeks so that you get the best tasting cup of coffee!
